When the visitors leave and the island grows quiet, the landscape changes. Villages return to their everyday rhythm. The light becomes softer, the wind more present, and places that can feel busy in August become almost still.
For autumn and winter 2026, PANO opens The Artist House in Triantaros for the next chapter of its artist residency programme, continuing Cycle III — Continuing the Dialogue. PANO Tinos is an independent initiative founded by Paula Mounas and Maximilian Boehme and based at The Artist House, a restored historic Cycladic house in the village of Triantaros on Tinos.
Residents stay at The Artist House in Triantaros. It is a 258 m² historic Cycladic house formed from three former village houses. The family gradually restored it. The house serves as accommodation and as a space for work, thinking, conversation and exchange. Depending on the residency, artists may stay independently or alongside a small group of other residents. We intentionally keep the programme small, with a maximum of three artists at a time. This environment also supports an Autumn stay.
The residency forms part of PANO’s ongoing curatorial programme Cycle III — Continuing the Dialogue (2025–2029). Rather than treating each residency as an isolated event, Cycle III develops gradually through successive artistic positions, conversations and works. Selected work and documentation from the residencies may become part of the accompanying exhibition and publication. Where agreed with the artist, an original work created during the residency can remain with PANO.
Who can apply
The open call welcomes artists and creative practitioners to spend a period of concentrated time on Tinos. We are particularly interested in practices that engage with questions of place. They may consider the village, material, architecture, landscape, memory, craftsmanship, community or everyday life. Applications do not need to propose a project specifically about Tinos. What matters to us is the quality of the practice and the reason for wanting to spend time here. We invite an Autumn stay for those who can connect with the island’s context.
Residencies will take place between November and December 2026, with stays generally ranging from 10 to 20 days. Artists may apply for a solo residency, group residency, or either format, and indicate whether they wish to be considered for a Standard or supported place.
